On studying abroad

I’m a junior in college and I honestly just want to get some more internships and get the hell out of here as fast as I can. Everybody acts like studying abroad is something you HAVE TO DO IN COLLEGE, but here’s the thing— I’m not sure I care? Like, do I have time for it? Sure, I’d love to see more of the world, but my agenda feels pretty packed and four years go by really fast. Time is running out if it’s a thing I’d want to do, but like I said, I’m both really busy and not even sure I want to.

Is studying abroad in college that big of a deal? Did you do it?

  3. douglasmartini answered: I don’t think it’s necessary at all to study abroad. I think that’s just something middle-class kids do in order to become more “cultured.”

  6. rubiksboob answered: I didn’t, and I’m pretty ok with that. I went to school in a place really different from my hometown, so there’s that.
  7. thewordunheard said: I did. It was life-changing for me, but only given who I was and what I needed/wanted out of college. It was paramount to my experience, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say everybody needs to do it. (I can elaborate over email if you want.)

  9. abeird answered: I always wanted to but my college didn’t have good ones. I feel like most people do it for bragging rights. Travel after youre graduated =]
